STABILIZATION OF SOIL USING INCINERATED HOSPITAL WASTE AND LIME
Ajeet Kumar Paswan & Dr. S.M. Ali Jawaid
ABSTRACT- It is essential that all hospital waste materials get segregated at the point of generation, appropriately treated and disposed of safely. Incineration of hospital waste is recommended practice in India. An attempt is made to in this study to investigate the feasibility of using IHW with lime to stabilize the Soil. Samples were prepared by mixing Soil with different percentage of Incinerated Hospital Waste and lime. It was found that 9% IHW with 3% of Lime is optimum percentage for.....>> Read More
WASTE BRICK KILN DUST AS A CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
Sharda Sharma & Shiv Kumar Yadav
ABSTRACT- Now day’s building construction is going rapidly with the rate of 6.6% from 2005 as projected increase in building area in India. So scarcities of constructional materials are going to increases and demand of building construction, road construction also increases. On the other hand in this paper we focused to find out the physical properties of waste brick kiln dust (B.K.D.) as a constructional material in civil engineering as partial replacement of OPC cement through various lab.....>> Read More
HEAVY METAL REMOVAL FROM CONTAMINATED SOIL BY SOIL WASHING – A REVIEW
Shivam Singh, Shipra Deep & Dr. S.M. Ali Jawaid
ABSTRACT- Soil washing is one of the few permanent treatment alternatives for removing heavy metal contaminants from soils. This paper reviews the various technology and full-scale field applications of soil washing applicable to soils highly contaminated with heavy metals. Soil remediation technologies have been monitored by their general function, feasible environment, target contaminants, removal efficiency, environmental impact, overall cost and compatibleness with other remediation .....>> Read More
COMPARISON STUDY OF BOOST CONVERTER AND BUCK-BOOST CONVERTER FOR MAXIMUM POWER EXTRACTION FROM SOLAR SYSTEM USING MPPT CONTROLLER
ABSTRACT- A maximum power point tracker (MPPT) play an important role in solar systems, because they improve the efficiency of solar system by increasing power output. Solar cell has non-linear voltage – current characteristic with a particular point where power produced is maximum. The output power of solar system changes with solar irradiance, temperature and so on. For increasing the power obtained from soar cell, it needs to operate solar system at maximum power point .Thus maximum.....>> Read More
Bentonite Blended alluvial Soil for Compacted Clay liner
Indrawati Kumari & Dr. S.M Ali Jawaid
ABSTRACT- Compacted soils are mostly used for liner systems of landfills. It is designed based on required permeability and liner thickness. The preferable permeability and thickness are less than 1 x10-9 cm/s and 0.60 m respectively (EPA 1993). Utilization of locally available soil for liners is an economically convenient alternative (Wijeyesekera et al., 2001). Bentonite has greater influence in altering the geotechnical properties of soil. Keeping this in mind, an attempt was made......>> Read More
